When God feels far away
Distance is not always the drama people imagine. More often it is a slow drift — a few busy weeks, a prayer you stopped finishing, and one morning you notice the room is quiet.
The letters here are about returning rather than arriving. They take seriously the feeling that you should be further along than you are, and then set it down, because measuring your walk against an imagined schedule is its own kind of distance.
None of them ask you to manufacture a feeling. They ask something much smaller: come back, today, in whatever state you are actually in.
If you are brand new to the letters, this is a reasonable place to start.
