Holding onto Faith

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things yet to be revealed.”

Hebrews 11:1
✦ ✦ ✦

It is hard for me to hold onto faith when I am facing life's challenges and trials. This can leave me feeling uncertain, weary and often discouraged. This is when — even in these moments — I feel God is calling me to keep trusting him. If I want to please him, I must hold onto my faith. Even if I don't feel it, I must never stop believing that he never stops working, even when it is hard to see anything happening. Faith is not based on what we see, hear or feel; it is based purely on God and his word.

Journaling for the week

What does faith mean to me on a personal level? What worries and fears do I need to surrender to God this week? And finally, in what areas is God asking me to have more faith?

A guided prayer

Help us, Lord, this week to trust you — even when there are things that feel uncertain. Please strengthen our faith and help us to walk by faith and not by sight. May we remember to keep drawing closer to you each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
