When you do not know how to pray
Prayer is the thing most of us believe in and least of us feel competent at. If you have ever begun and then stopped because it sounded wrong, you are in ordinary company.
Every Stillwater letter ends with a guided prayer — one paragraph, plain words, nothing performed. They exist for the mornings when you have the intention and not the sentences. Pray one as written; that counts.
The letters here are about the practice rather than the technique: praying first instead of last, and praying when the feeling has not arrived yet.
There is also a Prayer Circle. You send a request, it goes to Alice’s inbox and she reads it herself, and women of the circle quietly pray it through the week. It is free, it is never added to a list, and it is shared no further than you allowed.
