When your mind won’t stop racing
Anxiety rarely announces itself. It arrives as a thought you did not invite, on an ordinary Tuesday, and by the time you notice it your chest is tight and the day has narrowed.
There is a particular kind of tiredness that comes from arguing with your own mind. You know what is true. You could recite the verse. And still the fear keeps its seat at the table, and you begin to wonder whether faith is something you are failing at.
The letters gathered here do not pretend the fear is not there. They do not offer a technique that finally works, either. What they keep returning to is smaller and more repeatable than that: the same handing-over, made again the next morning, and the morning after that.
If you are looking for something to do rather than something to read, each letter ends with two or three journalling questions and a guided prayer you can pray as it is written. They are short on purpose. A letter should fit inside a cup of tea.
