The Miracle of Grace
“For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Over the years I have prayed for many miracles and I have seen many miracles as well.
I have prayed for healing, for my circumstances to change, provision, and for so many other things, that only God can change.
But there is one miracle that I quite often forget to recognise, the miracle of God’s grace.
The fact that God looks at us and offers us his forgiveness despite knowing everything about us. Our sins, our disobedience, and the things we have done that we cannot take back, then with his grace he removes our transgressions completely, that is the greatest miracle.
We sometimes believe that miracles need to be something that needs to change around us, when the miracle is what grace has changed in us.
God chose to forgive me; I didn’t have to earn his forgiveness. That is the miracle I will forever be grateful for.
Journaling for the week
When you think about how you didn’t have to earn God’s forgiveness, that it was given freely to you through grace, how does that change the way you see yourself?
A guided prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that through your grace alone, I am saved, loved and forgiven. Despite my past you still chose me and called me back into your loving arms. May I never take that gift for granted and may my life be a reflection of all you have done for me. In Jesus name, Amen.
