The Stillwater Letters

How we hold what you share.

You trust us with your inbox, and sometimes with the heaviest things you are carrying. Here is exactly what we do with both — in plain words, because that is how we talk.

What we keep

When you subscribe, we keep your email address (and your first name, if you share it). That’s what lets the Tuesday letter reach you. It is stored securely with MailerLite, the service that sends our letters. Anything you write to Alice lives in her ministry mailbox, like any correspondence — and that’s the lot.

MailerLite also records the basics that make a newsletter work — whether a letter arrived, whether the signup form was used. We look at those numbers only to make sure the letters are reaching you.

What we never do

Prayer requests are different, and we treat them that way

A prayer request goes by email straight to Alice — it is not stored on this website at all. She reads every one herself and holds it in confidence.

One more plain truth: AJ, the family member who keeps this website running, does the technical work — and the technical work never includes reading prayer mail. Prayer requests are Alice’s alone.

A gentle, honest note: Alice is a praying woman, not a counsellor. If you are in crisis or unsafe, please reach for help that can hold you properly — in Australia, Lifeline on 13 11 14 (24 hours) or 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732. We will still be praying.

What Stillwater is — and isn’t

Stillwater is a weekly letter and a circle of women who pray. It isn’t counselling, crisis support, or medical or legal help — and we would never want a letter to stand in the place of care you deserve. If you need that kind of help, the numbers above are a truer first call, and your GP is a good second. We’ll keep praying alongside — that part never stops.

Leaving is one tap

Every letter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Use it any time — no questions, no guilt trip, no “are you sure” maze. If you’d also like your details deleted entirely, reply to any letter or write to alice@thestillwaterletters.com.au and it will be done.

Questions

This page is written by people, and a person will answer you: alice@thestillwaterletters.com.au. We’re a small ministry in Adelaide, South Australia, and we take our care of your information — and our obligations under Australian privacy law — seriously.
