Fight Like Heaven

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Ephesians 6:12

Dear Sister,

What battle are you facing right now?

What struggle are you walking through?

Are you looking at the circumstances that are surrounding you and wondering, What is going on?

Maybe you cannot make sense of what is happening.

Maybe you have prayed and prayed over countless days and nights. You have trusted, you have tried, you have kept going, yet the battle continues,

The more you seek after God the more things seem to worsen.

Well, there is more happening at the moment than what your eyes can see.

The battle is raging, and it is not merely a physical one.

There is a very real spiritual battle taking place as well.

Sometimes we can become so focused on what is happening around us that we forget there is a battle happening beyond what we can see.

We look at our past,

We look at the situation that keeps falling apart.

We look at the disappointment, the conflict, the fear.

And we can start to believe that this is the battle.

The enemy loves nothing more than to use our circumstances to steal our joy, peace, weaken our faith, fill our minds with doubt and fear, then use this to convince us that God has forgotten you.

But sister, that is a lie. God has not forgotten you.

When fear comes, fight with faith.

When condemnation comes, remember who you are in Christ

When bitterness tries to take root, choose forgiveness.

And when you don’t know what else to do - pray

Because prayer is not giving up. Prayer is fighting.

You don’t need to understand everything to know that God is alongside you fighting this battle.

So Sister, remember to never give up.

Stand, put on the armour that God has given you.

Pray without ceasing, keep trusting even when it is hard and keep seeking him.

You don’t need to fight like the world fights; you need to fight like Heaven.

And always remember that even when you cannot see what God is doing, he is still at work,

With love,
Alice.

Journaling for the week

write an honest prayer to God about the battle you are facing right now and ask him to use it for his glory and thank him for the Victory that he has already won for you.

A guided prayer

Lord,
I bring this battle to you,
You know what I am facing.
The things that I do not understand.
I know that you have heard every single word that I have prayed, and you know that I am tired from this battle.
I do not know how much longer I can continue so help me to remember that I do not fight in my own strength.
Teach me to fight with prayer, using your word, my faith and perseverance.
Give me the strength to keep going and to stand firm, because I am not fighting for victory rather instead fighting from victory.
Amen.
May you start this day, knowing that God is with you in this battle.
May he give you strength when you start to grow weary.
Peace when you feel overwhelmed.
And may you continue to stand firm, even when the storm continues to rage.
Never cease praying.
Always keep trusting God.
Stand strong, and keep fighting like Heaven.
